Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice
Henry Ward Beecher once said, “Children are the hands by which we take hold of heaven”. And sweet little S certainly is heavenly. Check out this darling little angel that I was so fortunate to photograph recently. It doesn’t get any sweeter than this wee girl.
And, we’re back!!!!
Wow, it’s been a ridiculously, ridiculously long time since I’ve blogged. I’ve still been shooting but trying to make a point of not getting bogged down (or blogged down as the case may be) with all the little details and taking more time to focus on having fun with my little girl. She is growing up way too fast! I know I should promote my work and my business more but ultimately for me I have two priorities in life that will always be first and foremost: 1) My family and my daughter and 2) Giving my clients a photographic memory that will last a lifetime.
But, alas, blogging and maintaining an online portfolio is a huge part of having a photography business so let’s take a little peek at what I’ve been up to lately. Hmm, where do we begin?!
Back in December, I was so blessed to have an absolutely spectacular family/maternity session with an incredibly loving and fun family. I cannot begin to tell you how much I enjoyed this session and how wonderfully fantastic this family is. Check out S, a true Titian beauty with her perfect little baby bump (unbelievably there were TWO babies in there!!), her handsome, charming and devoted hubby, P and their precious, sweet and lovely wee girl, M! I really cannot imagine a more perfect or beautiful family! Thank you so much, guys for allowing me to spend the day with you and to allow me to capture these precious moments in your life. I feel truly blessed.
Kesler 3 days old | Coquitlam Portrait Photographer | Newborn Photography
Meet Kesler! We’ve been waiting for this little guy to make his debut and he certainly did it in the most patriotic style, arriving on Canada Day! I have to say, he is one of the most perfect newborns I have ever seen and definitely one of the most alert. We tried in vain to get some sweet, sleepy shots of Kesler but he was having absolutely nothing to do with our plan. He’s far too inquisitive and curious and he certainly wasn’t going to take a chance on missing out on any of the action. Check out this wise, sweet, little face. Something tells me there’s a very old soul tucked away in that perfect little newborn body. Thanks so much, guys for bringing your precious little man to see me and on Daddy’s birthday, no less. I am so excited for you both. Kesler is a lucky little boy to have such loving and devoted parents to guide him. Something tells me, he’ll be lacing up his skates and hitting the ice in no time.

Let them smash cake!!
Today was a first for me and for little T! We had our very first cake smash together and it was SOOOOO much fun… AND SOOOOO MESSY! There was chocolate icing from one end of the studio to the next. But so worth it! Thank goodness for hardwood floors and porcelain tiles for easy clean up! This little guy has a smile that would melt the iciest of hearts and the deepest brown eyes that you could just get lost in. I am so glad we got to do our very first cake smash together. I can’t imagine it being any better. Check out these images! I still can’t stop giggling every time I look at them.
Doubly Blessed
If you follow my blog you know one of my very, very favorite types of shoots is maternity photography. There’s just something so magical about baby bumps and the hopes and dreams of expectant parents. I’ve been looking forward to yesterday’s shoot for awhile now and I was certainly not disappointed. I had such a fantastic time shooting Amy and her gorgeous baby bump and I truly can’t remember the last time I laughed so hard. Not only does she make pregnancy look fashionable (and did I mention, there are TWO babies in there?!) but she has an incredibly quick wit and a great sense of humour. These lucky little twin babies are going to have so much fun with her as their Mommy! Thanks again, Amy, for allowing me to help capture this precious time in your life! You and Mark are going to be amazing parents and I am so excited for you and the amazing adventure that is just beginning to unfold for you all. Here are just a few of my favorites from our session….

A Tale of Two Cuties
My good friend and former coworker, Sheri, called me up the other day to set up an outdoor photo shoot for her two absolutely adorable kids as a surprise for her hubby. I have to tell you, with such a gorgeous and thoughtful wife and two fantastic children, he is definitely a VERY lucky man. It was an absolutely breathtaking day at Rocky Point and I had such a great time shooting these two. Afterwards, the sweet and handsome Addie sent me a lovely webcam message telling me “he loves me as high as the moons and high as the clouds”. Doesn’t get much better than that, does it? I am truly blessed. If he were about 25 years older, my hubby might have some serious competition!
Here are a few of my favorite images from their session. With the Winter 2010 Olympics in full swing, we thought we’d try to capture a little of the Olympic excitement during our session and the kids definitely got into the spirit! With two little cuties like this, it’s certainly hard to narrow down the choices! I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed my afternoon with this sweet family! Thanks again, Sheri, for the amazing session with your two sweeties!
