Let them smash cake!!

May 29, 2010 at 6:18 am (baby, wee ones) ()

Today was a first for me and for little T!  We had our very first cake smash together and it was SOOOOO much fun… AND SOOOOO MESSY! There was chocolate icing from one end of the studio to the next. But so worth it! Thank goodness for hardwood floors and porcelain tiles for easy clean up!  This little guy has a smile that would melt the iciest of hearts and the deepest brown eyes that you could just get lost in. I am so glad we got to do our very first cake smash together. I can’t imagine it being any better. Check out these images! I still can’t stop giggling every time I look at them.

The Yummy Cake

Hmm, what am I supposed to do with this???

Hey, this is kind of fun!

It worked for Bogart in Casablanca.. How do I look?

Fun to the tips of my toes!

Ok, seriously this IS FUN!!

Party in the house!!

All right, time to really smash this thing!

Who's the man??

And we're done!

If you follow my blog you know one of my very, very favorite types of shoots is maternity photography. There’s just something so magical about baby bumps and the hopes and dreams of expectant parents.  I’ve been looking forward to yesterday’s shoot for awhile now and I was certainly not disappointed.  I had such a fantastic time shooting Amy and her gorgeous baby bump and I truly can’t remember the last time I laughed so hard. Not only does she make pregnancy look fashionable (and did I mention, there are TWO babies in there?!) but she has an incredibly quick wit and a great sense of humour. These lucky little twin babies are going to have so much fun with her as their Mommy!  Thanks again, Amy, for allowing me to help capture this precious time in your life!  You and Mark are going to be amazing parents and I am so excited for you and the amazing adventure that is just beginning to unfold for you all.  Here are just a few of my favorites from our session….

Miss Molotov

One of my very favorite things about my work as a photographer is all of the amazing and interesting people that I am fortunate to meet and to photograph. I recently met Marissa, aka Miss Molotov, when she modeled for us at a couple of fabulous workshops I attended through Vancouver Photo Workshops.  Marissa is an amazing model and I was absolutely thrilled when she contacted me to see if I would be interested in doing some promo shots for some dance classes she’s going to be teaching in the fall.  Not only is she stunningly beautiful, but this gorgeous creature is also a talented fire breather, burlesque and belly dancer and truly one of the sweetest people I’ve met in a long time.  For more information about her upcoming performances, be sure to check out the deadliest dame alive at http://www.missmolotov.ca.  Here are a few sneak peeks from our session.
